Jordan

“East of the Jordan towards the sunrising” Joshua 1:15

Welcome to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a young country, which is modern, safe, friendly and most of all dense with history. Apart from all the antiquities lies a land with mesmerizing beauty and contrast, from the fertile Jordan Valley to the immense remote desert canyons. Here is where the stories of the Bible unravel such as the Dead Sea Valley, the Garden of the Lord which was generously bestowed by Abraham to Lot and Mt. Nebo is where Moses looked with hope at the land of rest (Canaan) which his people could enter. Mukawir fortress which overlooks the Dead Sea is where Salome danced in exchange for the head of St. John the Baptised. Jesus Christ crossed to the East of Jordan River several times and once the Virgin Mary had accompanied Him in this journey to Jerash. This land links Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem, Jordan witnessed the birth of Islam and its launching as a world religion.
